Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - Remote - UK/Ireland

We are expanding the existing team and looking to add a Site Reliability Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring optimal build, deployment, operation and performance of our products. The Engineer will join members of a company working remotely throughout the UK & Ireland.

Ideally, you would have experience with large distributed systems, running workloads and services in either GCP or AWS. You also would have experience with agile methodologies, continuous delivery, enterprise software as well as experience with industry-standard configuration deployment and workflow tools.

Duties:


  • Apply automation wherever possible in all areas of our CI/CD pipelines.

  • Automate and enhance the deployment of new customer environments.

  • Implementation of monitoring for cloud services to maximize uptime and performance.

  • Management and monitoring of third-party services used in our products.

  • Setup alerting and assist Professional Services in configuring dashboards to help monitor the health and performance of the infrastructure.

  • Collaborate with SDET and Data Science team to implement performance test suites and utilize the data generated.

  • Create automation mechanisms that respond to ML outcomes to optimize how the platform scales.

  • Follow our development process in order to effectively communicate your progress.

  • Participate in the design of new systems and functionality across our backend systems to meet the needs of user stories produced from other business areas.



Requirements

Basic qualifications:


  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

  • A strong desire to learn and explore new technologies and the opportunities they present

  • Strong experience with infrastructure scripting languages (e.g. python, bash, ruby, etc.)

  • Strong programming experience as a Senior or Lead Developer

  • Experience using modern DevOps toolchains (Github/GitLab, Jenkins, Travis, CircleCI, Docker, Kubernetes, Sentry, BugSnag, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack etc.).

  • Experience implementing infrastructure as code (Ansible, Helm, Terraform, Chef, K8s)

  • Good knowledge of databases and NoSQL data stores (Google Datastore, Hazelcast, Redis, Cassandra)

  • Experience working with distributed systems and good understanding of system design.

  • Experience of cloud infrastructure, GCP preferred, but AWS or Azure considered



Advantageous:


  • Experience with Serverless application development (Google Cloud Functions, CloudRun/Knative or AWS Lambda)

  • Experience with agile product development.

  • Experience developing enterprise software

  • Security risk and threat management
