Cloud Engineers align with these phases of our customer's journey

• During the sales process, the SCE may assist Cloud Architects and DevOps Consultants to answer subject-specific technical questions and verify assumptions.


• During engagement delivery, the SCE is a key resource who will be working with additional companyworks technical team members to develop and deliver on code and cloud services following our engagement methodology.


• Following an engagement, the SCE may continue to have contact with companyaworks Cloud Architects and/or DevOps Consultants to help address on-going requirements related to DevOps and Cloud maturity.

• Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Bash (shell scripting)


• Demonstrated advanced knowledge of at least one (1) other programming language (Preferably Python or Go)


• Experience with Continuous Integration tools release processes (GitLab CI, Jenkins, Circle, Drone, etc.)


• Demonstrated experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools including Terraform, Packer, and CloudFormation


• 5+ yrs experience with at least one configuration management tool (Preferably Ansible or Chef)


• 5+ yrs of demonstrated experience with Git and working with distributed SCM and VCS systems, branching strategies, and software repository structures


• 5+ yrs experience with cloud infrastructure and microservices or distributed system deployments (Preferably AWS or GCP)


• Experience building highly automated infrastructure and application releases deployed on one of the major public clouds


• Excellent skills and expertise troubleshooting networking, storage, and support services (i.e., DHCP, DNS, NTP, NAT, etc.) of Linux systems


• Demonstrated experience in the setup and management PKI infrastructure


• Worked on a team leveraging agile development practices, including stand-ups, and the creation/management of epics, milestones, and issues

• Working knowledge of Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and Continuous Deployment approaches and pipelines


• Experience with Containers and container platforms (Kubernetes, docker, containerd, LXC/LXD, EKS, GKE)


• Experience with release engineering approaches for Infrastructure as Code (IaC)


• Knowledge of deployment approaches including blue/green and canary using Continuous Delivery and Deployment tools such as Spinnaker or Helm


• Experience with microservices architecture and Twelve-Factor applications


• Experience with managing large-scale infrastructure supporting applications and performance tuning, latency tiering, and name service performance


• Multi-cloud integration including private and public cloud architectures


• Experience with HashiCorp Vault


• Experience with etcd, Istio, and/or HashiCorp Consul
