Software Test Engineer - Automation Scripter

• This position will be based from home, Although this role is a contract, it would be a long term contract position offering greater stability


• A minimum of two years experience with automation testing tools is required

Mission and purpose for the first 6 months:

                Implement test automation using best software tools for both server side and client side components. Troubleshoot QA environments, diagnosing and resolving issues. Should take complete automation responsibility and work with minimal supervision. Reporting progress during test automation development and execution phases. Maintain automation test structure to facilitate future additions / amendments and on-going execution. Supporting and utilising company standards for development and testing. Effectively follow the agile software development life cycle, including defect management. Communicate effectively with Senior Development & QA Manager.

Job requirements:

• build automation infrastructure that is incorporated with AWS deployments and provides powerful reporting for API and UI testing


• take over the existing automated test scripts to improve and update to provide high test coverage


• create new test scripts for different applications to increase the test coverage across the whole product


• maintenance of test scripts/automation solution to cater for the evolution of the product


• search, select or/and develop appropriate test automation tools


• design automated solutions to make QA (and possibly Support teams) work more efficiently


• design automated solutions for the newly introduced functionality and integrations


• design scalable solution for testing content


• build automation infrastructure which is Maths-version/device-agnostic


• test data creation and management


• provide technical guidance to other members of the QA team with regards to the automated tests' maintenance and execution


• assist QA Manager in preparing test plans and project status reports, as well as in analysing quality risks and budgets

Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems


• ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing or similar


• Minimum 2 years’ experience using Selenium, JMeter, Postman, Jenkins, Appium, Selendroid


• Experience with other automation tools is an advantage


• Strong programming skills in common languages (Java and Python are preferable)


• Proficient in SQL to develop the DB-driven testing


• Proven ability to multi-task, work effectively under pressure and communicate well with the development teams
