Ecommerce Developer
Goals:
Move Shopify site to another domain
Do 301 redirects for all current urls to new urls (we have this all listed out right now)
Obstacles
If were we tasked with just doing one of these things, we would feel confident in getting it done. But doing them all at the same time, we are much less confident. I have no idea of the best order to do them in. And it will cost a lot of money if in the middle of the process we realize we did something wrong (or worse, after the fact) and all of our redirects are broken
We have affiliates who rely on certain links to take their readers to our product pages.
We do not know the best order in which to execute the above to reach our goals
And there is no shopify test bed. The live site is the one that you edit.
We need someone who is experienced with site migration and advanced semi-large scale redirecting.
More information:
The shopify store pages are the ones moving to the subdomain (collections/product pages/etc). Its the blog content and new home page that will exist on jekyll at the primary domain. When we are ready to hit go on this, all the the content will be ready on github and deployed via netlify.
Again, we just need someone who has done all this before to sit there and make sure its executed in the right order, as quickly as possible (to minimize downtime), and done correctly.
