Responsibilities

• Join the core team (Founder/CEO, Editorial Director, and Product Manager) to shape the future of this company


• Refine development processes for building, testing, and shipping product experiences to drive millions of unique visitor traffic around the world across different locales


• Design and implement the architecture necessary to enable rapid product development, snappy page loads, robust tracking/logging on our website, and ability to support A/B tests


• Provide technical guidance to our remote contract developers for executing against project work


• Get into the weeds and execute on high impact work

About You

You love writing scalable and sustainable code and you’re comfortable leading and guiding others to build responsibly on top of that codebase. You’re someone who’s curious and eager to learn about new technologies to support evolving user/business needs. You pick the right tool for the job and can appreciate technologies beyond your favorite language. In the past, you’ve taught yourself new frameworks and programming languages because that’s where your curiosity and user/business needs have taken you.

Qualifications (what makes you a good fit)

• Strong grasp of HTML/CSS/Javascript and web fundamentals


• Organized and diligent with communications as well as documentation


• Can run devops for websites, web apps, and Wordpress sites


• Can build performant and well-designed backends


• Able to write good unit tests and integration tests


• Proficient with one of the following: React, Vue, or Laravel


• Comfortable designing and scaling relational/NoSQL databases

• Comfortable with AWS


• Led development teams in the past as a technical lead


• Worked at or operated an affiliate marketing website
