Front End Developer

We are looking for a top-flight Front End Developer to join our growing team.  The ideal candidate has a keen eye for design and the programming skills to bring design ideas to life.  You will be working with our UI/UX designer and back-end development team to bridge the gap between graphic design and technical implementation.



HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME:


  • Correcting design issues and solving problems with the front-end display of our website

  • Developing new user interfaces and improving existing ones

  • Ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs

  • Optimizing applications for maximum speed and scalability by writing clean markups, utilizing industry-recognized best practices and using less code to achieve better functionality

  • Collaborating with other team members and departments to ensure feedback is well observed, studied and then implemented in production phases





WHAT YOU HAVE:


  • Proof of age (must be at least 18 years old)

  • Experience in Woocommerce theme development

  • Experience working with popular theme frameworks for WordPress.

  • Responsive design.

  • An ability to learn new frameworks (without being limited to framework themes only)  

  • Proficiency in web markup including HTML5, CSS and CSS frameworks

  • Experience in CSS preprocessors such as LESS and SASS

  • Proficiency in client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks for user interface design

  • Experience with React.js and Angular.js

  • Solid understanding of and experience with asynchronous request handling, partial page updates and AJAX

  • Basic knowledge of graphic design software such as Photoshop and Sketch App in order to make minor adjustments to image assets

  • Proficiency in cross-browser compatibility issues and in creating strategies to knock them out

  • Knowledge of version control tools such as Git or SVN

  • Knowledge of SEO principles and achieving full SEO compatibility





WHO OVERSEES YOU:

The Front End Developer reports directly to the Sr Development Manager with whom he or she will have regular and significant interaction related to application and feature development, including front-end issues, bug/design fixes, scalability issues, resolutions, feature enhancements, and roadmap.



WHO YOU OVERSEE:

Currently, the Front End Developer will have no direct reports but will work closely with other operational teams.



WHERE IT ALL GOES DOWN:

Our Front End Developer will work remotely from home or personal office and will be required to utilize company time tracking software to log and submit work hours.



WHEN THE MAGIC HAPPENS:

The typical work schedule is Monday – Friday, 9:30AM - 5:30PM PST; however, weekend work or extended hours may be required depending upon the complexity and urgency of the tasks at hand.
