We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to help test our software, while laying the foundation for testing and quality on all our platforms for years to come.



Expectations of this Role

• As our first true QA Engineer you will be heavily involved in laying the framework of testing in various points of SDLC from conception to maintenance to assure we can deliver high quality product at high speed.

• You would be working with Director of Product, Head of Engineering and our DevOps developer to build a testing suite that would fit into our CI/CD pipeline, in addition to your other day-to-day duties.

• Perform manual functional testing, including cross-browser and cross-platform

• Document test cases for most critical parts of the application

• Set up and maintain automated tests including Functional, Integration and End-to-End testing

• Open support tickets as potential issues are reported by users

• Must work in the same timezone as our team (PST) and be responsive via Slack and/or video calls



Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer in a web-based software environment

• Experience with Test Case management software – TestRail or similar

• Experience with API testing software – Runscope or similar

• Experience with Browser automation – Selenium or similar

• Experience with project management software (JIRA, Trello, etc.)

• Experience with bug tracking and support ticketing software

• Experience working in a cross-functional development team environment

• Familiar with web-based technologies, including front-end, back-end, database, APIs

• Strong attention to detail and ability to come up with test cases to cover all bases

• Strong sense of prioritization of which cases are more critical than others

• Ability to not only catch bugs but also contribute subjective feedback on ease of use, design and user experience

• Strong communication skills and leadership experience managing and training other QA engineers

• Agile/Scrum experience is a plus

• Degree in Computer Science is a plus
