We’re looking for a full stack developer who is as comfortable with HTML, CSS, and Javascript as they are with working with a backend RESTful API and a database. We are seeking a mid-level developer but ultimately looking for the right human to join the team.

Requirements:

-HTML5, CSS, and Javascript

Vue.js (preferred), or React

-Node.js

-Express

-MongoDB (preferred), or other NoSQL databases

-RESTful APIs - designing, building and using

-Understanding of asynchronous programming

-Available 20-30 hours a week

-Flexible hours with reasonable deadlines and expectations

-Availability overlaps at least partly during day time (CST) business hours

-Contract to hire

-Ability to work independently and as part of a team

-Problem solving skills

Nice to have:

-3+ years of development experience.

-An interest in science and math

-Passion for improving education

-Unit and/or end to end testing with Javascript

-Build tools such as Webpack, NPM, Babel

-CSS preprocessors like Sass or LESS

-An understanding of queueing for offline processing

-Experience managing AWS resources such as S3, cloudfront, EC2 for production environments

-Experience working with a UX/UI designer or have an eye for UX and design yourself

-Experience developing for multiple form factors

-AWS experience with platform services (SNS, SES, SQS, S3)

-Involved in your local tech community
