Our ideal User Experience Design candidate is smart, multi-faceted, and comfortable working across disciplines:

As a UX Designer, you’ll be working closely with stakeholders and users to understand how best to build useful and compelling interactive experiences. You’ll also be collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of designers, product managers, developers, policy experts, and data analysts.

In a single week, you are likely to:

Work closely with stakeholders and perform user research

Recommend appropriate product specifications

Design both wireframes and high-fidelity mockups

Use components of our internal design system to create prototypes

Bring your work or latest problem to design review team meeting and give feedback to and collaborate with other designers

Pair with developers to implement clean, accessible HTML & CSS.

Human Services policy is extremely complex, so a talent and enthusiasm for data, deep workflows and forms is essential.

What you have:

2-3 years of interaction/UX design experience, with portfolio examples of mobile & web-based apps, especially products that have gone to production.

Ability to create wireframes and/or other artifacts necessary to communicate functional design and interfaces, user flows and information architecture

Ability to wear multiple design hats - strong visual design skills a plus

Fluency in standard design and prototyping tools (We use a variety of tools & techniques, including sketching, whiteboarding, Figma, and live code prototypes)

Ideal candidate has strong communication & presentation skills

Experience collaborating closely with Product Managers & Engineers

Experience with user research and usability testing

Experience building and maintaining design systems, preferred

Knowledge of Accessibility/Section 508 compliance
