Company is an online business software marketplace and comparison website based in London, currently in the process of setting up a satellite office in Amsterdam. Since 2015, our platform offers users a one-stop-shop to find and compare SaaS applications across 250+ different software categories, while providing a high-value customer acquisition channel for 7k+ software vendors.



Role:

We’re looking for a senior developer or head of development to take ownership of our technology stack and help us continue to develop and scale our product and service features and peripherals as well as maintaining the current operational and profitable platform.



You would be responsible for maintaining and developing our main platform written in Ruby on Rails and our API / Ember.js app for our customers, as well as some other components. In your role, you will work closely with our COO in Amsterdam to define our engineering roadmap and with our CEO in London to build out new product components

• design, build and maintain efficient, reusable and reliable code


• ensure the best possible performance and quality for our code


• identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions to these problems


• help maintain code quality, organization, and automation

Experience:

- 4+ years of development experience

- Proficient in Ruby and at least one other programming language (Python, PHP, etc)

- Experience with Rails or a similar MVC framework (django, symfony)

- Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational database

- Experience with AWS (S3, EC2, CloudFront, etc.)

- Experience with Ember.js or a similar framework (bonus)

- Good understanding of object oriented programming

- Good understanding of Chef/Puppet or a similar configuration management tool

- Comfortable following the best practices like testing (rspec), refactoring and writing clear, self-documenting code
