Web Developer
The Web Developer will report to the Director of Marketing and Ecom helping to build the operations end of our company Web site. This includes designing, building and implementing new Web pages and applications, third-party integrations and performing day-to-day administration of the organization’s Web ecosystem.
Essential Job Functions
- Lead the development of Web pages, user interfaces, mobile experiences and other marketing collateral using current industry standards.
- Participate in setting organizational Web development strategies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders on Web design and execution to create efficient solutions that will be consumer-friendly, both aesthetically and technically.
- Ensure all code is up to our company’s standards, and consistent across all development platforms.
- Collaborate with designers on layouts and interactions prior to development.
- Conduct cross-browser capability testing on all our Peak-supported browsers.
- Manage e-mail marketing development (Bronto experience preferred) that will drive traffic to the Web sites and increase consumer engagement with the brand.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance Web properties, to strengthen the brand and user experience.
- Adhere to corporate style guidelines, while incorporating Web design best practices.
- Establish policies and procedures for publishing Web pages and applications in conjunction with content creators.
- Collaborate with Peak IT team as well as Bauer Web team to share ideas and coding best practices as well as to create integrated designs that span various mediums.
- Conduct research into current and emerging Web technologies and issues in support of Web development efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with a minimum of 5 years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must know Salesforce Commerce Cloud/Demandware to be considered
- Must have experience with implementing payment solutions, integrating with ERP (SAP) and other third-party solutions.
- Expert XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript knowledge.
- Expert of HTML5 and CSS3.
- Knowledge of backend programming languages such as, .NET, Java and PHP a plus.
- Experience with Responsive Design techniques.
- JQuery and/or other JS library experience.
- Experience integrating with various Web services using SOAP/REST.
- Experience with modern build tools, such as Node.js and Gulp.
- Experience with AJAX and data objects (JSON).
- Expert in cross-browser support and ability to troubleshoot.
- User experience design experience a plus.
- Ability to think creatively and outside of the box.
- Self-starter that takes the initiative to start and complete assignment without direct supervision.
- Extremely meticulous and detail oriented.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to take ideas from inception to design to production.
- Baseball and softball knowledge a plus.
