JOB SUMMARY:

The QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring and upholding the quality of our Data and APIs during its development and after its release. The engineer must be able to find bugs and other necessary improvements, based on their ability to understand the proper functionality of a given product. The candidate will need to work closely with the Developers as well as other Engineers in order to perform testing, find problems/bugs, and facilitate its resolution. The most important aspect for the engineer is their ability to understand and comprehend how a product should correctly work, anticipate the kinds of issues that may occur, recognize them during testing, and report them effectively.



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understand an assigned product’s functionality and architecture thoroughly

• Finding issues in Data using SQL. Having experience in SQL is a plus.

• Finding issues in APIs/Web Services.

• Report bugs in Jira effectively.

• Work with developers to facilitate bug fixes

• Keep track and manage bug priority

• Create applications or scripts to help facilitate testing.

• Create automated regression testing procedures and programs



• The QA process typically includes testing for:

o Functionality

o Data Integrity Analysis

o Stress/Load/Performance

o Regression Testing

o Other Manual Testing

• Refine product specifications/wiki and other documentation



OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Replicate issues originating from client complaints and report them in Jira



REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Programming / Computer Science / Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience

• SQL and RDBMS experience is a plus

• Experience in Unix is a plus

• Strong reasoning, logical, analytical and problem solving abilities is a must

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills



OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

• Past experience in API / Web Service Testing is a plus

• Past experience in Data Quality Testing is a plus

• Must be able to adjust well to changing priorities

• Able to perform duties with minimal supervision
