I have been providing freelance industrial consulting for around 10 years in software development to clients all over the United States, while teaching college level Computer Science courses at colleges in Texas. Haliburton is one of the largest drilling services provider, and Sperry Drilling is a division that was acquired by Halliburton in 2001. Sperry is building next generation geo steering drilling web application converting from legacy WPF to web based Angular UI. App is used to assist drilling operation providing services for directional drilling or geo steering.
-Converted legacy WPF UI into modern Angular 4/Bootstrap responsive UI, to work on any browser any device and resolution, hosted the static files on AWS S3 hosting
-Wrote the new Web API RESTFul services to be consumed by Angular 4, Services hosted on AWS API Gateway, interfacing with AWS Lambda functions written in .NET Core.
-Ported old data access layer written in ADO.NET into AWS DynomoDB based Repository pattern, and custom layer 2 caching with ElastiCache.
-Hosted .NET Core base Web API on AWS API Gateway, used data collected from drill bit sensors pushed into AWS S3, SQS for further processing with AWS SWF.
-Visualization of drilling data on the dashboard was done with GeoToolkit that's built on the top of D3.js. GeoToolkit is made by INT and is a visualization library like Telerik KendoUI and D3.js.
