Dell Update Package (DUP) provides the consistent easy-to- execute user interface for all updates. Dell is able to provide these Dell Update Packages, by aggregating the content from content/component providers. The component providers provide the updates either in the form of PIE or MUP file on Agile following PIE and MUP specification accordingly. DUP Infra is web service for creating Dell Update Package(s) using the information available on Agile PLM.

As a team player I have played majorly two roles:
1.Scrum Masterfor the team which involves planning

all deliverables based on priority, guiding team all possible ways to unblock them from any issues, coordinating with test, device teams, release managers, and other dependent teams. Making schedules for releases, presenting ERs, work with Agile team.

Development Lead):Key features worked on migrating the java based application for DUP Infra from jetty to tomcat, design and implementation of Metadata Validation tool (Still in concept phase.),migrated from Perl to java for DUP creation code, worked with Agile team to use their web service APIs into DUP Infra code, worked on Clarity4 for MUP Framework UI changes, writing HLD.

3. Other responsibilities :

1. a) Currently driving the ThunderBolt IC feature, resolving dependency across cross functional teams, and provided solution on registry approach for inventorying hidden devices.

2. b) Very quick and diligent in responding to DUP Infra queries as it’s customer queries. Deliver the Client IC release and to understand the framework issues

3. c) Very prompt and proactive in communicating to the DUP Creation users on the deployment details or issues caused due to Agile or DUP creation service. This has enabled the consumers to react to the change and plan accordingly.

4. d) Worked on the metadata tool and delivered a standalone tool to be experimented by device teams. The reviews from the device teams on the tool was very positive and is now in the road map of DUP creation service.

5. e) Have delivered features for DUP creation with good quality. Eg. migrating the java based application for DUP Infra from jetty to tomcat with zero defects, Clarity 4 implementation for MUP framework and many more.

6. f) HavecontributedtoclearingthebacklogforDUP creation after it moved to DMZ.

7. g) Contributed in design aspects w.r.t refactoring and designing the complete DUP creation code.

Open Manage Essentials is a hardware management application that provides a comprehensive view of Dell systems, devices and components in the enterprise’s network. With Open Manage Essentials, a web-based and one-to-many systems management application for Dell systems and other devices and components we can perform the following:

Discover and inventory the systems. Monitor systems’ health.
View and mange system alerts. Perform system updates.

View hardware inventory and compliance reports.

coordinating for the transition plan, gathering all required documents for complete understanding of the product, organizing session/trainings on team’s need, interlocking with other teams ,release/sprint planning for OME1.1, adding epics, user stories, tasks into TFS, attend and update status on Engineering Review, participate in weekly call with ADC on Dev- test interlock.

5. Module Owner/Developer:Participated in gathering required skill set for complete understanding of the product, currently working on OME 1.1 user stories mainly owning Client and Force 10 switches.

VIS is the standalone appliance which consists of Dell products like AIM (Advanced Infrastructure Manager), Dell Creator and other management tools in different VMs to manage physical and virtual machine deployment and cost controls in data center environment. Unified is the product to control the complete orchestration of machine virtual and physical deployment and maintain it.

OMSA is a set of integrated components that form a single application for managing the Dell Power Edge servers. It runs on the server and can be accessed either locally (through a web browser and command line interface (CLI)) or remotely (through web browser only). The WEB interface is compatible with various browsers and provides excellent performance. Industry-standard systems management agents installed on the server gather detailed configuration, fault, and performance information. This information is reported via a standard set of system information reports available through the Web interface. The command-line interface allows administrators to run/automate commands execution with scripts on a single server or a group of servers. OMSA also offers plug-ins to standard windows services like Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) service and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) service. By doing this OMSA is exposing management information through CIM and SNMP protocols to higher-level management applications.

As a part of complete look and feel change for OMSA have actively participated in Clarity-E mark1 implementation for OMSA for which had been to ADC to work with EDG team to complete the requirement.

GCAS - WEBADDis the acronym for "WEbBasedAdministrativeDocumentationDatabase".

Its purpose is to assist managers in documenting discussions with their employee's via a SBC Corporate web site.

It is primarily used by first line managers to document discussions and observations on their employees.

The application allows managers to Add, Edit, View & Delete forms. It allows users to retrieve associated reports so they can track their progress, such as productivity or safety.

Upper level management uses WEBADD to pull reports to track district requirements. These managers also have the ability to add forms as needed.

As a Software Engineer, I have played three distinct roles in the project based on the kind of work:

1. Migrationof existing client applications from non-MVC based ColdFusion to MVC-based JSP- Servlets architecture

2. Enhancement\ Maintenanceof existing J2EE applications

Both these phases happen in parallel.
