This project focusses on understanding the relationship between the massive data collected from the operating engines and cockpit of aircrafts to prepare a predictive model that can make decisions and set the priority of maintainability among the engines. This saves manpower and cost by not visiting or operating on the engines which are working fine within the stipulated timeframe and focusses on the engines which require urgent attention.

Description

The goal of this project is to build an advanced analytical solution on top of the datasets generated from wind tunnel testing campaigns and computational fluid dynamics which can optimize the aircraft design process. With the help of computer aided tools designers generally use analytical theory to do the various engineering calculations that go into the design process along with a lot of experimentation. Aircraft designers normally rough-out the initial design with consideration of all the constraints on their design and erect a scale model and start wind tunnel testing, during this phase they study aspects like, aerodynamics, propulsion, controls, mass and structure of aircraft design to carve the perfect design which goes into manufacturing of prototype. Before manufacturing prototype aircraft, an insightful analytics of CFD datasets and Wind Tunnel Testing datasets can be done to find the anomalies in the conceptual design phase which can save a lot of iterations of wind tunnel tests, time and cost.
