Description

I worked under a PhD, with several post docs, and an electrical engineer researching and developing proteomics with mass spectrometry. I developed and met milestones improving system automation, fractionation, fragmentation, multiplexing, etc. with 6 ion mass spectrometers. I used National Instruments libraries for TDC and created an ADC mass spectrometer. The system handled a variable number of TOF spectra approximately 100 usec long with resolutions for TDC down to 1.6 nsec and with ADC 1 nsec. Results were kept in 3 formats, processed, TDC raw, and ADC raw. Making toys for the PhD’s…

Description

At a re-start company, I redesigned and developed the real-time software architecture for a Holographic Ultrasound imaging system (used for soft-tissue medical imaging) in C#/C++. My work saved the company up to $8000 per machine and greatly improved scalability and usability. Wrote the user interface, controlled 9 axis of motion interfacing the Galil Motion Controller (3 servos, 6 steppers), a timer control card, TCP/IP networking allowing remote imaging & system control capabilities, video enhancement of 12 bit images at 15 frames per second, and miscellaneous I/O (fill, lights, temperature sensor, leveling). I worked on the acoustic lens formulas for focus/magnification, profile design automation, PID loops, and detector leveling formulas. Additional duties included system administration, web site development, and all around problem solver. We have proved the technology thru imaging over 180 patients at this time.
