The initiative aims to automate the process of stamp duty assessment, payment, collections, reporting and reconciliation. Specifically, at the pilot phase, the project commenced with the automation of stamping CAC instruments/documents with ISDS and integrating ISDS with the CAC, GSP, FIRS Portal and the JTB TIN generation portal.

The solution is expected to also:

• To enhance process efficiency for fixed and ad-valorem variants of stamp duties
• Provide for a seamless, CAC portal centered process eliminating FIRS manual stamp duty process delays.
• Provides minimal disruption to CAC GSP-CRP portal and company processes.
• Provides the taxpayer with evidence and record of stamp duty payment embedded on printed CAC documents (CAC 2).
• Provides FIRS with the stamp duty revenues instantly (via e-payment channels) and relevant taxpayer information sent to FIRS for record purposes.
• Provides FIRS with transactional/corporate data that will be used for record keeping, reconciliation and revenue accounting.
• Provides the taxpayer an E-Stamp Duty certificate at the end of the transaction.
• Provides FIRS with data that can be used to trigger TIN generation for the newly registered companies.
• Provides FIRS with data that can be captured into the FIRS Data Warehouse for data mining and intelligence for increased tax revenue collection.
• Provides transactions originating from MDAs to terminate at the FIRS data warehouse.
