Autodesk moved from Perpetual licensing model to the Rental model recently and that required to bring in new technologies and should work seamlessly with legacy systems. Denodo was brought in as layer that allowed to bring in new systems without having to restructure old systems. Jenkins is an automation engine. Its used to automate several qa automation scripts. Currently it is using static physical virtual machines and there is an overhead of maintaining these machines. Jenkins pipeline is introduced to enable CI/CD Rashmi was involved in the instance creation in AWS cloud and configuring it. Creating image, troubleshooting jobs if any and recreating image. Creating groovy scripts for each job and troubleshooting.

Autodesk is ISV and to support their products they have implemented applications like Siebel, SAP, DW, ODS, Salesforce. There are enhancements at DB level for Siebel DB, SFDC and DW database for every release/sprint. Enhancements involve data scrub at Siebel DB level, Major enhancements and some new ETL jobs. As data architect involved in multiple projects some for development /data quality. Unified Customer Profiling Autodesk migrated data from multiple sources to Hadoop. This is required to bring more analytics of data. The data migration activity is performed in multiple steps called Data Drops. Data from 8 different source application was migrated to Hadoop, mainly on SQL server and Oracle database servers. Total entities migrated were 100 + across all applications. After lot of analysis it was found out that totally new out of box approach is required to ensure data validations. So, a new framework is developed to perform end to end validations delivered a high productivity. Rashmi was involved in the initial analysis of requirements and coming up with test scenarios. Also, performed initial analysis of available big data testing solutions within organizations and outside. Rashmi came up with an idea on testing and did a POC using existing open source tools used within the project. Once the approach was accepted trained team on building and enhancing framework for all test scenarios. Rashmi got and iFruit award for this idea and also received a best innovator award. Rashmi has also published a whitepaper on framework and overall challenges being faced. Building Global Data warehouse GDW consists of many dimension and facts tables based on data coming from operational data store. This data is consumed by reporting tool. And various business decisions are based on it. This project involved 11 dimension and 3 fact table validations by tracing various mappings and transformation in INFA power center. This was very complex project and required daily status tracking and stand up meeting calls to review issue found in each entity. Rashmi was responsible for overall delivery of this project from validation of all entities. Study mappings and apply transformation rules from source to staging till GDW and come with queries. Decide on overall approach to validate entities.

Autodesk is moving to a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model for Enterprise Application Landscape. Autodesk decided to move CRM and PRM environments from a Siebel on-premises solution to a SaaS solution provided by Salesforce.com. Migration of CRM and PRM involves the data migration from different source systems to Salesforce.com. Rashmi was involved in the Project management, estimations, milestones setup, raising risks/issues. Designing plan for data migration validation Areas. Designing a framework in PL/SQL for checking ETL transformation rules and update to Salesforce.com. Developed PL/SQL anonymous blocks, stored procedures to perform same updates of ETL job.

Autodesk has business in many countries and stores the customer accounts data in Siebel. To manage accurate customer data across all applications, upgrade of Trillium tool and new product oracle Universal Customer Master is adopted recently by Autodesk. UCM will be a central hub of data and Trillium cleanses and matches the customer account and contact data. QA team was involved in the data migration testing of accounts and contact data of entire Autodesk customers to ensure 100 % data validation. It involved the extensive data testing using SQL queries and stored procedure on Oracle as well as SQL server DB. The scope of the project involved Web-services, Automation, and SQL scripting and functional validation has been by-far the most complex project in Autodesk MTC till date. Travelers is a second largest personal and commercial insurer in US. There are various applications based on common Framework and components. Framework is called Bond. Its an n -tier architecture for windows applications. Enterprise team works on architectural changes and enhancements to common components. Also redesign of existing components. The enhancements work includes enhancement to EFC (Electronic File Cabinet) and diary control etc. Rashmi was involved in transformation of EFC component from a simple client control into a robust and dynamic service-oriented component. Initial study of client architecture at client location at Hartford US Environment setup for the base client framework at offshore. ADP has deployed its CRM application to various vendors in the vehicle industry. The application is tightly integrated with Elite - a legacy application. Lithia is one of the largest dealerships that make use of these applications. To ensure the smooth running of the system - a data transfer takes place every night between the two applications. This is currently of 8+ hr duration. The initial objective of the engagement is to reduce this as much as possible without getting involved in the functionality of the application itself. Tuning the code inside the stored procedures is expected to result in this reduction in duration. The data exchange covers two distinct jobs. The Data import is composed of 19 steps while the Processing job has 42 steps. The approach adopted is to target the steps that consume the most resources (Time, CPU Cycles, and Disk IO). After overcoming the bottlenecks in these - the next level of steps can be examined. It uses the screen scraping method to place order on conventional database. So it saves lot of timing in order entry. Rashmi was involved in understanding the entire life cycle of order capture. Development of COM component using ActiveX DLLs. Enhancements to existing Liberty Software. Writing Web Services in .NET, Used Soap calls to call web service.

The Tracs2000 system uses a Foxfire, a customized report development tool. As a part of sql conversion process, foxfire will be replaced by Crystal Report and MS-Sql Server as a backend. It is a collection of over 500 complex reports. Rashmi was responsible for designing reports using Crystal Report. Completion of most difficult reports.
