An interface has been built with SMS (Systems Management Specialists), a vendor for CMS (Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services, formerly HCFA), to submit enrollment, plan change, and disenrollment transactions. Based upon the CMS response, letters are created for the members and where appropriate, the members are sent to MHS via EDI.
