The project involves integration of Polaris Hadoop database to Connected Quality Insights (CQI) which is a Quality metrics dashboard. It will show the compliance & quality metrics which will be used by PQEs and Clients quality team. The dashboard is intended to measure and improve component traceability. Traceability metrics are defined to surface gaps and provide actionable insights. The purpose of the dashboard is to enable clients’ traceability stakeholder to monitor PCBA site performance, drill-down on the gaps to troubleshoot, root cause and fix the gaps.

The project involves building a self-service, data centric and analytical data layer in big data platform (Hadoop Data Lake) and to provide access to business, data stewards, data scientist and SME’s via dashboard, API’s and interactive user interfaces to perform their day to day activities in terms of analyzing, arriving on critical insights and decision making on the enterprise data related to products health and costing, product quality , six sigma goals, global supplier management/quoting, spend and savings.

The data is ingested into Hadoop from various data sources like Oracle ERP, SQL Server, Cassandra, Teradata MySQL and Cisco legacy systems like Quality for manufacturing Excellence (QMX), Cisco Manufacturing Report Centre (CMRC), customer registry, product life cycle management and global supplier management etc.

Return to A stock (R2A) is a reverse logistic process where the customer returns are evaluated for value recovery of the goods returned and make it available for reserving against future orders. The returned products are again sold to customers with minimal activity and resource utilization. Cisco has been able to get considerable value recovery through the process.

: LCAT (Logistics Cost Analysis Tool) is an application essential for understanding Cisco’s Manufacturing Freight Costs. LCAT is used to allocate to the BU’s (Business Unit) freight costs based upon actual cost. It provides Logistics Finance with all information required to complete monthly Freight Cost accruals. LCAT is used to capture and allocate freight cost down to a product family level for all shipments that are paid and will be paid by Cisco. The process covers both actual freight cost and planned freight cost.
