Working on GPON, layer 2 network protocols like VLAN etc. in Access Fixed Networks group.

Group : L2 Forwarding, working for the product ISAM (The ISAM is a DSLAM/OLT type access device i.e. it allows subscribers to access Service providers over a public network). The projects involved enhancements in the code, feature requests related to Layer 2 forwarding and involve concepts of VLAN, QOS , Virtual MAC and packet movement from LT to ONT to the subscriber.

The product is one of the legacy access products from Alcatel Lucent and underdoing rapid transformations towards the Modern Software Architecture which includes from vendor specific to open ended vendor neutral (usage of SDN and NFV) and introduction of YANG Model.

ITNM provides the features necessary to manage complex networks. These features include network discovery, device polling, including storage of polled SNMP data for reporting and analysis, and topology visualization. In addition, Network Manager can display network events, perform root-cause

analysis of network events, and enrich network events with topology and other

network data.

To discover the devices (layer 2 and layer 3) on the NMS and to develop new agents for the devices if the devices are not yet supported.

  • Designed and developed components such as Calibration & Verification, Executor, Log Manager, Optical Configurations, Process Controls, Report Manager, Modules & Test Classes Framework. Fintest and Partest supporting 8528 (8G, SFP+) (tests optical transceivers during manufacturing)
  • Designed and developed Algorithm Toolbox, It is a virtual environment allowing evaluation of various optimization algorithms. Optimization algorithm input is a data set, which typically obtained from real-life module based on some sort of brute-force data collection sweep few input (setup )

  • parameters (ex. DC Bias, ACBias) are swept and record output (measurement ) parameters ( ER, OMA, LDI, Tx Power, Mask Margin etc.)
  • Performed Performance testing and debug and compare the measurement parameter values of Agilent Oscilloscopes and in house SD Oscilloscope, The in house SD Oscilloscope saved several 10’s of million dollars for the company.
  • Migrated database of EEPROM Editor Utility from MS Access to SQL Server.
  • UI development of features requested by Product Engineers and customers
  • Documentation for the features developed.
