The Punjab Spatial Strategy (PSS) is a World Bank funded initiative being implemented by the Government of Punjab. The Punjab Spatial Strategy will assess the potential of Punjab’s growth corridors and growth nodes and prioritize and coordinate investments in the province. This strategy will inform in particular public investments related to connectivity infrastructure, urbanization and development of industrial zones, which will be reflected in the MDTF (Medium-Term Development Framework – a multi-year indicative budget) before approval through the ADP (Annual Development Plan – the annual budget) process.

Development and management
Description
LRMIS project was developed for The Board of Revenue, Government of Punjab.
Government started computerizing Land Records with overall objectives to improve service delivery and to enhance the perceived level of tenure security.
The project scope included all over the Punjab districts, initially started from the three districts (Lahore, Lodhran and Hafiz Abad) of Punjab.
Following services were provided in this project.
Ø Building a mobile scanning capacity that will allow available musavees (local maps) of all three districts to be scanned and Georeferenced.
Ø Linkage of digitized musavees (local maps) with Land Record Management Information System
(LRMIS).
Ø Published data over the web to visualize the actual location, dimension and detail information of ‘Khasra’ (Parcel).
Provided editing functionalities for GIS cadaster data. User can edit, update geometry and attribute data related to each Geometry.

The GOVT of Punjab took initiative for developing GIS base security and monitoring system for the foreigners Security system developed for the security of foreigners comprises of three parts. MIS Dashboard GIS Based Web Map Android Application Following inputs will be displayed on this dashboard: Smoke Sensors Alert: Voice Sensors Alert: Observer Point Alert: In observer point alert, the security will inform through message that will be shown on the dashboard along with the location. Zoom to map extent. On the blinking of the alert on dashboard, area can be identified and can be zoomed to the exact location on map. Active live camera streaming of specific point When the signal will be shown by the alert alarm its location will be taken and according to that its nearest camera will get active and will show map on dashboard to view the current situation. SMS generated to control room. In case of emergency this application will automatically send SMS to the control room with specific information along with area. Security officers list. This alert system will highlight the affected area and in case of emergency its location, situation live through camera and the list of the officers that were appointed to that area, will be shown on the dashboard. SMS to Fire brigade. In case of emergency this application will automatically send SMS to the fire brigade with specific information along with area to make the presence of the brigade on time.

PHED requested The Urban Unit to provide spatial location, satellite imagery and attribute data of Higher Education Departments of Punjab. Various spatial analysis were required, of following functionalities: Geo location, college pictures, students and teachers count. Aerial distance between two colleges can be measured. Source College can be selected either from map or from the dashboard, through which 5 nearest colleges, their distances and their attributes can be viewed. Buffer analysis: one source can be selected either from map or from the dashboard. Required distance can be assigned to the buffer. Detail and location of those colleges that intersect under that buffer, can be viewed.

Compare divides the map display into two maps, each displaying a different scenario and all the operational data. Task: Android Application for Survey. GIS Web Application for Survey Monitoring. Dashboard MIS Application Supervisor/Surveyor Registration Web Application 1. Android Application Android Application was developed for survey of workshops, hotel & restaurants and petrol pumps. Surveyors collected information of those children who were under the age of 18 and worked in those places. Application has two main modules that were Old workplaces/Child and New Workplaces/Child. Information was collected in both modules. 2. Dashboard Web Application Dashboard Web Application was developed for multiple analysis for child labour . Comparison of child labour was based on Bureau of Statistics Survey and The Urban Unit Survey. Dashboard had graph analysis, stack analysis and filter analysis. 3. GIS Web Application GIS Web Application was developed for showing current location of every workplace on map. Each worker record was displayed on map at run time of application. 4. Supervisor/Surveyor Registration Web Application SRW Application was developed for authentication of every supervisor and surveyor. SRW Application will help in finding those who will be involved in duplication or fraud related to any wrong information. Every supervisor and surveyor needs to get registered first. SRW Application had a module where Supervisor/Admin can check work record of each surveyor.

KPRRP project was developed The Communication & Works Department, Government of Punjab. Government wanted a real time monitoring system to check the status and progress of ongoing construction of rural roads. Its a complete real time monitoring system and data is fed from field by using custom developed android application. Based upon the data added from field survey, roads physical progress is calculated. Following modules have been developed for the department A dashboard which shows district wise overall physical progress, work done and budget utilized in the form of HighMaps and HighCharts. Map interface shows the real time physical progress and work done of each road along with road starting and ending picture as well as the location from where data is sent. An admin panel through which department can edit, update and add financial aspects of road. Department can also upload Third Party Validation of the road.

PTIMS project was developed for The Transport Planning Unit which established within Transport Department, Government of Punjab. It provided focused, assessment based tool for public entities, Enabling them to manage their resources while addressing transport challenges. At the same time, availability of information related to intercity bus operations, intra-city bus/ wagons routes, operators contact details and facilities being offered at the terminals and stops facilitating public in planning their journeys. Disease Temporal Analysis Tool was developed for The Institute of Public Health, Government of Punjab. Punjab was traumatized by the worst epidemic of dengue, affecting thousands of people. Punjab Government wanted a statistical assessment tool which provides real time town wise patient count, occupied and available beds in the hospital. Two tools were developed, first shows the statistical count of diagnosed dengue patients and available beds information in the hospital, meanwhile second tool showed how dengue epidemic spread in the districts of Punjab.
