Description

This was a very high value order both in terms of revenue and countries interest towards cricket.The requirement from our core Fiber team was quick link commissioning of 5Gbps link from Stadium to TCL POP.As a result of our intense experience we were confident of delivering on time.Since this was a very high profile match involving LIVE broadcast ,there was a no matter need that the broadcast stays uninterrupted.We made all necessary arrangements that there are 3 fiber path from stadium to our existing network point.The back was 1:2 .Also there was a bandwidth crunch in Stadium location since the stadium was in outskirts and there were less enterprise customers .We catered to this challenge by creating new fiber rings on ASAP.Also the Equipment was kept in a ready tested condition.The major challenge aroused before us was ,we were denied by the Stadium Authority ,the Infra requirement of Power and earthing to power ON the Equipment .The Stadium authority (underBCCI)advised us they could provide us Power and Earthing only 3 days prior to match schedule.Even the STAR TV authority was at ground but still there couldn't be proper support.We took this a challenge and installed battery bank which could support for minimum 3 days and the Equipment could be made LIVE in N/W on time .There was a need to make the Equipment LIVE in N/W minimum 5 days prior to match schedule since our internal video testing teams could do their necessary LIVE broadcast readiness,post our work completion. There was a seamless broadcast of LIVE IPL without a hiccup and we as a team always felt proud that the IPL LIVE broadcast was on equipments planned and installed by us .Myself and my team was awarded for completing this delivery smoothly and attending the customer requirement.

Description

This was an internal project and there was no monetary or immediate benefits to customers .This was a project for network optimization.As network evolved and as thecustomers kept on increasing ,the existing fiber rings were bandwidth choked.Creating new fiber rings or cable laying involved huge and intense capex .The alternate was to come out with a way to optimize the ring by upgrading the Eqp in the fiber rings.Upgrading the Eqp at customer end involved downtime from customer which was a huge challenge .This was overcome by negotiating with customer as per the SLA guidelines and the requirement for N/W upgradation which in turn would provide huge benefit to customer in terms of better uptime and meeting their new bandwidth requests on immediate basics.On repeated follow ups with the customers and using their least operational windows like Saturdays or Sunday Midnights ,this network optimization activities could be completed in 3 months timelines.Around 85 customer nodes involving big enterprises like Wipro ,TCS,Infosys ,Accenture and others could be completed by having continuous discussion with customer .The project was accolade by HQ and self was awarded.

Drive back office provisioning of service delivery activities including onnet feasibility, access networks and customer order provisioning.

This was a prestigious project as the customer is a Premier Government organisation and repeated business from similar gov banks was expected, post successful completion of this project .The main Challenge for this Project was its Inherent Penalty clause for missing the timelines committed and some 3 remote sites which were inaccessible on Tata Communications Network.The challenges were kept on top and the project plan as per the customer delivery date with lead of 2 weeks was planned.All possible parallel activities like keeping the the manpower ,materials at all remote & major location were kept in ready state .The activities of Network bandwidth planning at Tata Communications end was also kept ready. The challenge of TCL N/W non availability was overcome by taking the off net bandwidth which consumed 80% of the timelines .Since the TCL part was kept in ready mode ,as soon as the offnet bandwidth was ready the link could be commissioned in next 3 days.Also for one of the major SIDBI location at Gurgaon site due to hindrance from Government authorities in digging the road ,the aerial cable option was evaluated and the customer concurrence was be collected with the commitment that the aerial cable would be converted to underground in next 4 months ,by liaisoning with local municipality .The customer also tried their influence on local Municipality but still there was no immediate ROW permission ,hence customer agreed for partial SLA for this stretch .The project was completed on time and this success served as a milestone where we received similar VPN connectivities from Punjab Bank ,ICICI bank and a very high revenue order from SBI connecting their various major branches spread across T1 cities

Description

Bandwidth delivery of 60Mbps in 2006 was considered as a high bandwidth Ckt as speeds upto 10Mbps were considered nominal and normal.Also we were having limitation of equipment capability which could cater to this bandwidth. Project involved Network Planning,Equipment planning ,Fiber cable laying with commissioning of Equipments at customer end .Since the bandwidth requirement was high ,none of the fiber access rings were possessing abundant bandwidth .To overcome this challenge capex was sanctioned to create a new ring.Also the customer was looking for redundant fiber path with least latency as their link was to be used for stock market operations.This was achieved by planned the access ring in a ring architecture from customer to POP end and a new route was created to reduce the fiber ring.
