Data Analyst (Onsite Richmond, USA)
Responsibilities:
- Use Open Source/Digital technologies to mine complex, voluminous, and different varieties of data sources and platforms
- Build well-managed data solutions, tools, and capabilities to enable self-service frameworks for data consumers
- Demonstrate ability to explore and quickly grasp new technologies to progress varied initiatives
Business Intelligence:
- Partner with the business to provide consultancy and translate the business needs to design and develop tools, techniques, metrics, and dashboards for insights and data visualization
- Drive analysis that provides meaningful insights on business strategies
- Develop and manage data tools and solutions that provide value
- Provide information and data insights that support business operations and decisions
- Act as a consultant to customers to pair their business problems with your expertise on what is possible with data
- Create and maintain documentation including requirements, validation, and design
- Identify development and data needs in order to improve and streamline decision making
Data Management:
- Drive an understanding and adherence to the principles of data quality management including metadata, lineage, and business definitions
- Work collaboratively with appropriate Tech teams to manage security mechanisms and data access governance
- Build and execute tools to monitor and report on data quality
Work Experience:
- Advanced SQL and/or Python working knowledge
- Experience working with structured and unstructured databases
- Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
- A successful history of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large disconnected datasets
- Experience with full-stack JavaScript development and frameworks
- Experience with business intelligence tools E.g. Qlik, Tableau, ETL, etc.
Skill Sets:
- Strong desire and experience with data in various forms (data warehouses/SQL, unstructured data)
- Experience utilizing and developing within AWS services
- Data Analytics experience
- experience utilizing a business intelligence visualization tool
- experience in querying and analyzing and working with data languages and platforms
- Strong experience coding in Python, R, Spark, or SQL
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to contribute both independently and as part of a team
- Strong listening, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Able to work in diverse teams, under tight deadlines, to deliver quality work for customers
- Commitment to delivering excellent customer service
- A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
