QA Lead

Location: Pune (only local candidates)

Function: Software Engineering → QA / SDET

A professional automation engineer with a strong testing background, knowledge of building automated systems & tests both front-end UI, back-end services, and databases and keen orientation toward hands-on coding, and well-rounded knowledge of how to deploy, test and create production-ready test suites. Candidates will be testing all aspects of a large-scale distributed system that involves microservices, multiple tech stacks, and significant load/performance and security requirements. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must since you will be directly interacting with US and European customers. Ability to operate with full ownership and independence, and with minimal supervision. Knowledge of automating integration systems, building automated systems & tests both front-end UI, back-end services, and databases, along with handling complex data operations for large international clients. This role offers a broader range of responsibilities and growth potential compared to a typical automation engineering position, so our ideal candidate needs to be very comfortable with taking on a high level of responsibilities across multiple engineering functions and work closely with the internal (ShoppinPal team) as well as customers and partners.

Responsibilities:

• Candidates will be working on all aspects of a distributed system.
• You need to be comfortable taking on responsibilities spanning the full-stack - frameworks such as Chai, Mocha, multiple databases, API communication, and everything in between!
• Load and performance testing experience is a must.
• Build automated test suites for continuous integration and delivery including acceptance, performance, regression, and new feature testing of UI/UX components, Web services, and various applications and systems.
• Develop and execute a complete test strategy for products and features including verification of functionality, performance, security, and scalability.
• Ensure the quality of the product and provide evidence of release readiness.
• Analyze and decompose a software system and design a complete system test strategy.
• Continuously streamline and improve the testing life cycle to ensure test planning, execution, and reporting are effective, agile, and coordinated.
• Analyze testing results to enhance test plans and scenarios. (Including metrics and benchmarks to gauge improvement)
• Pro-active investigation/verification of production defects and continuous improvement of regression tests.
• Responsible for Manual Testing before product launch.
• Build automated test suites for continuous integration and delivery including acceptance, performance, regression, and new feature testing of UI/UX components, Web services, and various applications and systems.
• Capture metrics for various tasks and figure out ways to drive higher efficiency by automating repetitive less efficient routes.
• Liaise with international teams.
• Independently & proactively prioritize and execute deliverables.
• Also Responsible for Manual testing before product launch.
• Use of various best-of-breed tools and technologies to ensure test coverage (e. g. Istanbul).

Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 year working in-depth with a focus on Test Automation.
