TITLE: AWS Administrator 


The AWS Administrator will play a crucial role in the design, provisioning, configuration and optimization of the end-to-end vision and strategy for how data flows through the AWS Commercial Pharm development and production environments. The individual will be joining a Data POD of developers and admins in the iterative design of a business solution using the Agile methodology. The candidate will also be required to have a deep familiarity with the following technologies and its application to business solutions: EMR, EC2, Kendra, GLUE, Athena, Spectrum no , Elastic Search yes, EBS, S3 yes. Candidates experienced with the following will be given preference: Spark, EKS ecs, Dockers, Python, Redshift, RDS, CI/CD, Mule soft, Apigee, Sage Maker, CloudWatch, CloudTrail. The candidate will work with multiple IT teams and Business Intelligence teams to set standards that define how data is collected, how it is used, stored, managed, and integrated within our AWS environments. The AWS Admin will be required to follow AWS-related security policies, the project’s overall data architecture and the solution’s fit into infrastructure to address identified information needs. Specifically, the AWS Admin will be involved in resource & cost optimization, provisioning, patching, POC work, software installation, working with VPCx team for the whitelisting of new services, and other similar activities.

Required Skills/Experience

• Excellent verbal and written communications.

• 3+ years professional AWS Admin experience.

• Hands-on experience with end-end solution delivery of Data & Analytics applications involving structured and un-structured data in the AWS ecosystem 

• Proven ability to work with project managers and stakeholders to help refine and capture infrastructure requirements in an iterative fashion. Accurately forecast engineering effort.

• A commitment and passion for continuous integration and using automation to ensure stable development and production environments.

• Extreme attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Self-motivated, driven to achieve committed milestones. 

• Strong collaboration skills, ability to mentor and be mentored.

• Ability to work seamlessly as part of a multi-site, multicultural development team.

• Desire to work in a fast paced, growing, deadline driven, startup environment.

• Experience documenting best practices and enforcing strong governance in a team is required.

• BS or MS degree in Computer science or equivalent.


Preferred Skills/Experience

• AWS Architect Associate certification

• Experience with Scrum and an Agile Development environment 

• Experience with tools like JIRA, GIT/Bitbucket, Confluence, etc . 

• Experience with Continuous Integration/Delivery concepts and tools like Jenkins, SonarQube, bitbucket, etc 

• Strong working knowledge of tools like Sqoop, Spark, Oozie, Hive and Impala 

• Strong working knowledge of ETL tools like Informatica and/or Talend 

• Knowledge of best practices in using reporting tools like Tableau, Qlik, R, etc 

• Experience with data lineage, data profiler and metadata management tools and processes
