Introduction

In this role, you will serve as a technical leader and evangelist in a region by sharing a vision for IBM’s Open Hybrid Cloud strategy and Red Hat OpenShift as the open hybrid cloud platform of choice for innovation and modernization. You will be able to interact with CxOs/VPs of Infrastructure and Development to position an RHOCP/IBM Hybrid Cloud Enterprise platform architecture against competition (i.e. VMWare, SUSE/Rancher).You’ll partner with IBM technical account leaders to to drive and/or provide support for RHOCP opportunities that require additional attention. You will capture and amplify successful customer use cases and architectures. You should have a background on broad IT strategic topics and solutions like automation, hybrid cloud, IT modernization, DevOps, and advanced application development concepts. You will need a balance of technical expertise, passion for open source, and a deep understanding of business processes and IT problems faced at the enterprise level to identify and create business solutions based on RHOCP and IBM Hybrid Cloud offerings. You’ll also need excellent communication and people skills. This role is multi – country posting and can be located in Europe.

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Help technical account leaders build mutually valuable relationships with customers’ C-level executives and senior technical leaders that result in a commitment to Red Hat Open shift as a strategic platform
• Successfully position RHOCP and IBM Hybrid Cloud value proposition against competition and/or competitive approaches
• Capture customer use cases/common architecture patterns for reuse and amplification
• Ensure appropriate use cases, architecture, and target workloads for the customer
• Deliver compelling recommendations that will result in the closing of new sales
• Coordinate and collaborate across Red Hat and IBM teams as needed to ensure excellent customer experience with RHOCP and IBM Open Hybrid Cloud solutions
• Lead/participate in communities of practice to share knowledge and drive broadening of OCP skills
• Keep up-to-date on RedHat Open shift software and services offerings available via IBM PIDs

• Required Technical and Professional Expertise10+ years of enterprise computing experience, including an understanding of common enterprise computing issues and IBM and RedHat offerings to provide solutions in these areas
• 3+ years of practical experience working on Kubernetes or Open shift on client projects
• 3+ years working extensively with one or more of the major cloud platforms
• Broad understanding of competitive landscape
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to meet with and present to C-level executives and develop relationships at multiple levels of the I.T. organization
• Broad understanding of IT strategic topics and solutions like automation, hybrid cloud, IT modernization, DevOps, and advanced application development concepts
• Broad understanding and ability to effectively communicate the value technology brings to a business, industry, or vertical
• Ability to understand and effectively communicate the value of IBM Open Hybrid Cloud strategy and OpenShift Container Platform across technology and solutions spaces, including platform, middleware, cloud and virtualization, and services
• As a plus – experience with software-defined storage and z/p platforms
• Demonstrated ability to learn and educate others on rapidly changing technology and strategies and to maintain a broad skill set in common enterprise IT technologies across development, automation, and operations
• Willingness to learn and collaborate while working in a high-performing agile culture
• Willingness to travel as needed when appropriate (up to 25%)
• Fluent in English and a strong level of German
