QA Automation Engineer

Our client is a disruptive product start-up based in the USA and is building artificial intelligence technology that streamlines the shopping process for the 40 million Americans who relocate each year. Their computer vision technology transforms the stressful, time consuming, and fragmented relocation experience into an interactive process that takes only a few minutes. Our client's web platform is the delivery mechanism for our AI technology, in use for thousands of pre-move surveys each week. We use a modern technology stack and automate away things that waste time. We are looking for driven, talented people who can add great value to our team, spread across various countries and time zones. We are looking to hire an Automation Engineer to help build, maintain and scale our automated test applications. The ideal candidate should be able to analyze application features and add/maintain end-to-end tests using the Cypress framework and also should be able to understand continuous integration processes to fit within a DevOps environment. Knowledge of scripting languages and / or Javascript is a good thing to have. The ideal candidate shall also be great at communicating things in a clear and concise way and should be able to adapt to the more efficient processes while working in a product engineering team.

Responsibilities:

● Understand the functional requirements of each product, develop, document, and execute test cases.

● Understand, write and review the automated test cases.

● Evaluate the testing process, make recommendations as necessary.

● Creates and executes timely project work plans with proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects.

● Able to identify recurring issues to improve processes and stay ahead of known gaps.

● Engage in thoughtful cross-functional collaboration to go beyond traditional QA expectations.

Required Skills:

● 3+ years in web application testing or similar role.

● Experience in automation testing.

● Experience writing end-to-end tests with Cypress..

● Strong understanding of JavaScript and HTML DOM.

● Ability to create and maintain automated test cases by analyzing application features.

● Agile Testing Experience in an agile development environment.

● An attitude to learn.

● Great communication skills both written and verbal

● Strong problem solving skills

● Great self-discipline and accuracy in delivery

● Ability to evaluate and take up challenges

● Strong understanding of team and product culture

● Ability to adapt and regroup based on learning and feedback

● Can work independently while owning up responsibility

● Proficient in JIRA

● Working knowledge on Git Hub

Preferred Skills:

● Experience managing team size of 2-3 would be a plus

● Basic understanding of React, TypeScript.

● Experience in managing Cypress tests running on GitHub Actions CI.

● Experience in using Cypress Dashboard for recording tests in CI.
