Data Warehouse Architect

Job Description:

• Lead the Data Warehouse system architecture design and implementations/ enhancements Ability to create and maintain conceptual/business, logical and physical data models
• Ability to synchronize models to ensure that database structures match model Build and maintain high performing ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) processes Support and enable Data Sciences and Business Intelligence teams with necessary data repository, pipes and regular feeds.
• Monitor data platform to ensure reliability, consistency and accuracy of information loaded into the enterprise warehouse on a regular basis
• Analyse and document source systems data domains and inter-relationships to enable rapid ingestion into warehouse/ data lake environment and provision high quality and consumable data Assist in the development of internal policies / procedures/ standards/ controls and metrics
• Seek continuous improvement in performance of the data platform load and consumption processes Work cross functionally to implement data driven projects Work with external vendors, cross functional teams and data sources as required for planning, designing, implementing, testing, rolling out and management of Data platform projects.
• Effectively communicate and document the data platform architecture utilizing industry standards Manage and ensure data security, quality and process controls, managing escalations and developing and recommending improvements Implement / follow Agile and DevOps methodology and tool sets

Roles and Responsibilities

• Under general direction, primarily responsible for activities related to the architecture, design, development, implementation, and support of the data warehouse.
• Participates in the design of the technical and information architecture for the data warehouse, including all information structures (staging area, data warehouse, data marts, and operational data stores).
• Focuses on enterprise-wide data modelling and database design. Creates logical and physical data models, mapping logical to physical for Dimensional & Data Vault Designs, develops, tests, monitors, manages, and validates data warehouse activity, including data extraction, transformation, movement, loading, cleansing and updating processes. Coordinates with other Data Warehouse IT stakeholders to ensure overall health and performance of the data warehouse environment.
• Works with end users to translate business questions and requirements into applications that employ the appropriate reporting tools. Performs other duties as required.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
• Minimum of 8 year experience in a similar role Extensive experience in designing, developing, testing, and implementing ETL solutions using any enterprise ETL tools Data Modelling experience -
• Dimensional & Data Vault Superior communication and business-technical interaction skills
• Proven experience proposing blueprint solutions and collaboratively defining enabling architectures for enterprise data platforms
• Comfortable making decisions over uncertainty Expert-level SQL skills Strong team player and outstanding problem solver Self-starter, self-managed, quick learner, problem-solver with a positive, collaborative, and team-based attitude
• Ability to work remotely, at a home-office, with limited travel to client locations (as it's safe to travel again)
• Comfortable to provide 2 hours of overlap time for meetings/daily stand-ups with business during early USA hours Strong understanding of various design and architecture patterns
• Knowledge of BI architectures, concepts and frameworks Extensive experience in any of the RDBMS platforms i.e. SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata Capable of facilitating data discovery sessions involving business subject matter experts
• Experience in translating/mapping relational data models into Data Base Schemas Should have knowledge of different estimation models
