We want a Frontend Developer with a base experience of 2 years to join our engineering team. You will be the head engineer who will craft how our product functions. We are looking for someone who can make the most complex tech look and feel seamless for our users. If you're someone who has quick fingers, can fix issues in minutes, and independently make important tech decisions, you're the right match. With increased digitization in the construction space and an ever-expanding variety of materials, solutions are also galore! Undoubtedly there is a major gap in the market— there are platforms that help users discover and identify materials and there are designs that they need to buy— how do we make this process quick Material Depot is the bridge that the industry needed. We aggregate and cut the time professionals needed, to discover and sample products, from hours to a few minutes.

Who are the Founders and founding team? Founders and founding team members are from IITs and have a decade-long combined work experience across management consulting (BCG) and construction technology in India and the US.

In this role, you will also:

• Architect, design, and develop new user-facing interfaces and features
• Be primarily focused on the frontend of Material Depot
• Mentor and support other technical team members
• Build reusable components and front-end libraries for future use
• Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code
• Optimize components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers
• Develop a flexible and well-structured front-end architecture, along with the APIs to support it
• Create, improve, and refine workflows and processes for delivering quality software on time and with carefully calculated debt
• Profile and improve front-end performance and document the codebase
• Work closely with product managers, customer support representatives, and account executives to help the business move fast and efficiently through relentless automation
• Communicate effectively in a distributed work environment

For this role, you must have:

• Proven work experience in building scalable products from scratch as a Front-end developer
• In-depth understanding of the entire web and mobile development process (design, development, and deployment)
• Hands-on experience with tech stacks like MERN and MEAN
• Strong knowledge of and experience with the functional programming paradigm
• Experience in conducting code reviews, providing feedback to other engineers
• Great communication skills and a proven ability to work as part of a tight-knit team
