Project Manager-Scrum Master

Job Brief: 

The Project Manager/Scrum Master is responsible for managing multiple agile-based development team workstreams to ensure teams are progressing and meeting their sprint commitments. In this position, you will manage multiple cross-functional teams, ensuring that work is progressing, delivery impediments are addressed, the scope of commitment is held, and ensuring releasable code is delivered at the end of each sprint. Also, this position will be responsible for facilitating Agile Ceremonies and supporting the team and Product Owners. 

Job Requirements: 

  • Manage the scrum team in using agile methodology and scrum practices 
  • Responsible for customer satisfaction while working with the product owners and development teams 
  • Support the scrum teams in self-organization 
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of designers, business analysts, developers, system architects, quality engineers, and others to develop and execute against Product Increment (PI) objectives 
  • Promote and drive Agile development methodology throughout the work and teams 
  • Own and direct all sprint-based ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint demos, and retrospectives, and facilitate sprint planning and tasking 
  • Lead and manage weekly Scrum of Scrum meetings 
  • Report on and provide visibility into overall team performance metrics including velocity, defect rates, and other performance measures 
  • Act as a subject matter expert for assigned products 
  • Review accepted & prioritized feedback, and new requirements from stakeholders (Product Backlog) and work with scrum teams to convert the most critical work into sprint planning and sprint backlogs 
  • Ensure that scrum team deliverables meet agreed-upon standards for quality and non-functional requirements and that the products meet the stated business need 
  • Assist with backlog grooming and pre-planning exercises including story refinement 
  • Participate in technical architecture and planning meetings before sprint planning 
  • Ensure sprint deliverables meet the definition of done before product acceptance 
  • Responsible for sprint monitoring, and escalating scope delays and deviations to product owners and technical leaders 
  • Work with a cross-functional team to produce delivery options for features based on time, cost, and quality considerations 
  • Manage the process of the team to break down program-level features into detail-level user stories that are consumable and testable by the Scrum team 
  • Ensure development teams are executing commitments in priority order to mitigate delivery risk 
  • Responsible that scrum team deliverables are being met by the agreed-upon standards for quality and non-functional requirements, and that the products meet the stated business need 
  • Manage all work items in a delivery tool such as JIRA 
  • Work with development teams to translate feature stories into technical requirements as needed 
  • Responsible for partnership with Product Owner and team to prepare and present sprint demos with stakeholders 
  • Work with technical leaders to identify, escalate and unblock development team impediments 
  • Accountable for team success and delivery on sprint commitments, including measurement, timeline, and scope 
  • Responsible for performance management of the team 
  • Ensure the team follows agile values, principles, processes, practices and delivers business value and working software 
  • Resolve conflicts and issues that occur 
  • Support the product owners and provide knowledge sharing and training where needed 
  • Review completed development work to ensure specified acceptance criteria have been met and that features and stories meet the definition of done 
  • Provide leadership in product community uphold the principles of agile (e.g., seek collaboration, not consensus, influence, negotiate, integrate 
  • Empowered to make critical decisions regarding team dynamics, functionality, and priority 
  • Participates in acceptance criteria development for sprints and the features included 

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Expertise in SDLC methodologies Agile, Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, and Waterfall 
  • Strong experience in project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint 
  • Understanding of back-end web services 
  • Certified Professional Scrum Master preferred 
  • Must have the ability to navigate through complex situations and break down the complex into simple and actionable tasks, track the work to completion and manage up to 4 scrum teams effectively. 
  • Experience as a Scrum Master running multiple teams required 
  • Familiarity with common lean/agile development practices and service-oriented environments 
  • Outstanding technical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, along with an ability to collaborate cross-functionally 
  • Proven ability to manage conflicting product priorities 
  • Highly organized and adept at prioritization -you can recognize and keep track of all the moving pieces in projects, adjusting to new information and goals 
  • First-class influencing skills, including experience working within a large matrix organization 
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal); proven ability to work with cross-functional teams to drive execution against deliverables
