Platform Engineer

We are scaling up a brand new team who will be responsible for building supporting our UK Greenfield customer banking services platform from scratch, which will run on AWS and connect LHV’s banking services to their customers. With these services in place our challenge will be to supercharge the businesses growth in the UK through technology and to establish our UK branch as the go to Banking As A Service platform for fintechs in the UK. This is a truly Greenfield project so whilst we have a good idea of the problems, we need your expertise to help us solve them correctly.

What You’ll Do

As part of our Infrastructure Platform Engineering team, you will be crucial in helping to design, build and maintain our entire infrastructure. You will be part of a very small team ( helping to deliver this platform for a start up cloud bank, thus being able to have a deep understanding on how to design resilient cloud infrastructure is key). Part of your role with involve helping to architect the solution and ultimately building and operating this platform which underpins our entire infrastructure. Ensuring that it is highly available and meets the demands of a modern system within a regulated environment is critical, as is an automation and security by design mindset.

As an IaC Platform Engineer you’ll also be working alongside our wider engineering teams to analyse, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end to end, refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes. As an engineer it’s important that you think openly to solve problems. You’ll work within a collaborative team of cross functional people consisting of full stack front end software engineers, UI/UX, Product, Cloud Security and more and fundamentally assist our software engineer teams with designing and implementing environments as code building items such as pipelines, golden images for Ec2 s, audit logs, networks, firewalls and security groups within AWS/Terraform.

What We Need From You Essential

 3 or more years of experience in a Platform, IaC , SRE, DevOps or Cloud Automation Engineer type role

 Strong experience using Terraform/ CDK/ CloudFormation (c reating images for Ec2, networks, firewalls & security groups)

 Hands on experience designing and building automated infrastructure as well as supporting existing infrastructure

 Working with software engineers in Agile/DevOps

 AWS services such as; VPC, EC2, Systems Manager, Security Hub, Code Pipeline, Inspector, WAF, CodeBuild, Cloudwatch, and IAM

 Scripting Bash, PowerShell, Python or similar

 HashiCorp Packer for building Images

 Building pipelines (C.I/C.D or both)

Nice To Have

 Working in a regulated environment

 Knowledge of Security best practice

 AWS Lambda or AWS Professional certification
