Long Range Identification and Tracking of ships is intended to provide assistance to ships during disaster time so that rescue operation can be carried out most appropriately. The project tracks or monitors the positions of ships that registered to Indian data center. In addition to tracking of ships it involves vessel management. In this project web services and web application plays an important role to complete a cycle of process. Web application is used for vessel management and generates different kinds of ship position request, and web service is used to communicate between International Data Exchange (IDE) and National Data center (LRIT).
