DEVELOPMENT The goal was to develop a native Android mobile application that connects to an external Bluetooth-enabled device, periodically retrieves some data from it, and logs the result. It also displays the latest data on smart watches and alerts the watch in certain cases. DESIGN Design created in accordance with the features: the watch shall display system notification, optimized for round watches, shall display current time and the latest dose rate and neutron rate, should have adaptable background color to indicate the alarms, should display the latest battery level of the nanoRaider. CHALLENGES Impossibility of testing all functionality The main challenge was in testing as we didn’t have nanoRaider and were not in the radiation zone, so developers could work only with documentation. All key functionality was tested on the client side with a group of testers and then first users group. They needed to test alerting and logging system in gamma-neutron radiation area
