Johnson Controls, Inc divested much of its automotive manufacturing business to a consortium of Adient and YFAI (China) about 2016. The two firms decided to focus on separate areas, but were united by their highly-customized QAD Mfg/Pro ERP system, a mix of eB/eB2 versions circa 2000 along with a variety of special purpose software and spreadsheets. YFAI opted to move forward with QAD’s Cloud 2016 offering and separate itself from the Adient system. Phoenix Project was to perform that Siamese twin software systems separation and upgrade/migration for more than 40 plants around the World. Our team of 5 was charged with performing business process surveys, systems analysis with Gap analysis studies between each Plant’s “Needs” and ‘core model’ offerings, staff re-training, UAT signoffs, migration guidance and management, followed by post-migration on-site support.

Our team completed studies on 7 of 24 North American plants, training and support at 5 and UAT at 3. My analysis and training foci were Customer Scheduling and MSW/PSW.

We modified an early color computerby inserting a custom controller board to operate a cash drawer, then I developed a POS system in BASIC to manage sales, receipts, pricing, and inventory with EOD data upload to HQ. 1st Customer was a regional chain of high-volume adult beverages stores.

Co-developed a full MRP II System in Oasis Basic. First customer was a high-end gear and machining firm some of whose procducts reside on the Moon.

I wrote a comprehensive Individual Tax Perparation System for CPAs, E.A.s, Accountants and Tax Perparers with which to interview Tax Clients, perform all calculations, and print out and electronically file Federal Tax Returns. and 14 States' Tax Returns.
