Serve as Senior Mainframe Developer and Technical Lead with American Express Corporate
Cards Portfolio which supports various applications such as CAPS (Card Application Processing
system) for Card creation, EBTA (Enhanced Business Travel Account) for billing and settling the
payments and Statementing.
• Exposed to Work along with Clients at AMEX, Brighton, UK for a year (Nov 2014 to Nov 2015).
• Handled Multiple projects at the same time in various applications supported by the portfolio.
• Estimate the effort and cost required for the project from the detailed requirements and
analysis.
• Build corporate card processing applications from scratch and individually contribute to
architecture, design and coding deliverables in Agile Methodology.
• Developed Card Application Processing System (Batch) - First, storing the new card application
data in DB2 & IMSDB databases, then application validation by performing Duplicate check,
Credit score check, AML check, Experience check and KYC checks for all incoming applications
using COBOL-DB2 programs.
• Send and receive required applicant details from an external Java based 3rd party system using
MQ series.
• Generate new card numbers and account setup for validated (passed) applications using
COBOL/IMS-DB programs and finally, create Card issuance files and various reports using
COBOL, SELCOPY and SORT utilities.

Developed new CICS screens to accept the card applications(Online) entered by Operations
team, load the data into DB2 tables and generate new card numbers and account setup for
passed applications using COBOL/CICS/IMS program.
• Create technical design documents (HLD and LLD) and participate in design review calls.
• Write defect free code adhering to COBOL and client standards and take part in code
walkthrough with clients.
• Setup test environments by performing DB2 & IMS-DB Unloads and loads, file preparation, data conversion

Create thorough test cases (normal and exception), perform unit testing, system testing and
participate in UAT; upload requirements, test cases and defects in HP Quality Center (QC).
• Participate in technical implementation planning, ensuring that the integrity of live operations
will be maintained.
• Support the handover of the system into business-as-usual (BAU) operation, providing the
relevant IT service teams with information and education relating to the system technology and
function.
• Performance tuning of COBOL/DB programs to improve job execution time.
• Assist in the resolution of live incidents and system problems as and when required, develop
RCA for incidents, create problem tickets and schedule change in production.
• Ensure that End Users are provided with necessary technical support relating to any new
enhancement done in the AMEX system to perform their task successfully.
