Allegiance Group is seeking a full-time developer contractor experienced with WordPress. This person should have 5-6 years of experience developing professionally.

We are looking for someone who will thrive in a remote environment working collaboratively on teams that can range from large to small clients with tech leads, content strategists, designers, developers, project managers, project owners. We expect all candidates to have experience with WordPress and be comfortable working with teams building and providing ongoing support for complex websites.

Key Responsibilities:

We are looking for a developer to both help support our ongoing clients as well as work in a team on new site builds.

Successful candidates will have strong technical skills and be able to manage themselves in a remote-work environment.

They must also possess excellent communication habits to work well with other team members.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise The ideal candidate will be:

• Knowledgeable and experienced with community plugins and themes
• Fluent writing Responsive HTML, SASS, and Twig
• WordPress experience including Gutenberg blocks, Advanced Custom Fields, Gravity Forms
• Comfortable working in a local development environment (Docksal a plus), and using git-based version control tools (we use GitLab)
• Ability to translate designs, layouts and wire-frames into working HTML pages
• Strong knowledge of software design principles and best practices
• You care about code quality, and take care to build reliable and maintainable web sites
• Excellent communication skills

Bonus points for experience with:

• JavaScript (ES6) with and without the use of frameworks such as jQuery
• PHP with and without frameworks such as Symfony and Laravel
• Writing custom modules and plugins
• WordPress multi-site, custom plugin development, and custom integrations
• JIRA or other bug tracking tools
• React, Vue, or other JavaScript libraries and frameworks
