Role Overview

We are looking for an SAP BTP Support Engineer to join our offshore support team in

India. This role focuses on handling application and platform support tickets for

multiple customers using SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) services such as

SAPUI5 applications, CAPM (Node.js), SAP Build Process Automation (BPA),

Document Management Service (DMS), and Identity Authentication Service (IAS).

The engineer will be responsible for analysing application issues, troubleshooting

production problems, managing deployments, and ensuring smooth operation of

applications hosted on SAP BTP across multiple customer landscapes.

The role requires strong technical expertise in SAP BTP services, application

architectures, and support processes, combined with the ability to independently

investigate issues and deliver reliable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical owner of support tickets related to SAP BTP

applications and services.

• Analyse incidents and service requests raised through ticketing tools such as

Jira.

• Troubleshoot issues in SAPUI5 applications, CAPM (Node.js) services, and BTP-

hosted applications.

• Investigate and resolve production issues including application errors,

deployment failures, and integration issues.

• Handle escalations and provide timely resolutions aligned with SLA targets.

• Perform bug fixes and minor enhancements in applications and services.

• Analyse application logs, traces, and monitoring tools to identify root causes.

• Provide detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for critical and recurring issues.

• Understand and analyse application architectures to diagnose issues

effectively.

• Manage role collections, user access, and authorization assignments in BTP.

• Handle deployments across environments using CI/CD pipelines.

• Work with Git repositories for version control and code management.

• Troubleshoot authentication and authorization issues involving IAS and

application-level security.

• Support SAP BPA workflows and troubleshoot automation-related issues.

• Manage and troubleshoot SAP DMS-related document handling issues.

• Collaborate with development teams, architects, and stakeholders for

complex issues.

• Maintain documentation of solutions, known issues, and troubleshooting

procedures.

• Provide proactive recommendations to improve application stability and

performance.

Required Technical Skills:

SAP BTP Technologies

• Strong hands-on experience with SAP BTP services.

• Experience working with SAPUI5/Fiori applications.

• Hands-on experience with CAPM (Node.js) development and support.

• Experience with SAP Build Process Automation (BPA). (Nice to have)

• Knowledge of SAP Document Management Service (DMS).

• Experience with SAP Identity Authentication Service (IAS).

Application Development & Troubleshooting

• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for UI and backend services.

• Ability to analyse logs, traces, and runtime errors.

• Understanding of application architecture (frontend, backend, services).

• Experience in fixing bugs and supporting live applications.

DevOps & Deployment

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for application deployment.

• Hands-on experience with Git for version control.

• Experience managing deployments across multiple environments.

Security & Access Management

• Strong understanding of authentication and authorization concepts.

• Experience with IAS integration and SSO configurations.

• Experience managing role collections and user roles in SAP BTP.

• Knowledge of OAuth, SAML, and token-based authentication.

Platform & Operations

• Experience handling production support and escalations.

• Understanding of monitoring tools and alert handling.

• Ability to manage multiple tickets across customers simultaneously.
