BOBJ stands for Building Objects. Everything inside a building is an object. The goal of the client is to have a digital platform where he can track everything related to a building. This can be a floor or a lightbulb inside a room. This is going to be used by building planners, construction teams and maintenance personnel.

However, just logging the existence of a given thing (e.g. floor, apartment or light bulb) is not enough for the needs. We need to be able to understand relationships between objects and between objects and people and organizations (e.g. lightbulb is inside apartment and apartment is inside building and building is maintained by company X who has Mr S as the appointed person), granular details on each (we can upload files, add custom fields etc) and eventually track history of changes (contracts ending, things being changed) as well as future events (when is the next maintenance date? When does the support contract expire?).
