Description

Automation of Trade Entry (ATE):

Trade blotters received from clients via email or as a feed from Bloomberg, Brokers trading systems etc will have to be placed on a network share where ATE has the access. This application picked up the files and loaded them into the database to generate the CSV file for other application called WSO Trade in Interface.

ATE provides functionality to map incoming XLS/CSV files to the new database where all blotters uploaded. This data will in turn be used to generate the output in CSV which will be based on the template provided by vendor application. This CSV file used as an input for WSO Trade in Interface.

ATE provides functionality to map deal data in the blotters to deals in WSO. Also, it provides the flexibility to manage and retain data without Technology involvement.

Description

Data Analysis and Reporting Tool (DART):

For this project, I have managed team of five developers. I have developed the requirements document and taken participation in giving demo of application to business users after every sprint completion. In addition, I have done the scrum calls, sprint planning, review and retrospective. I have done the code review and conducted technical trainings.

This Application automates the process of extracting the data from the services and loading it to the raw data set. Using predefined logic, users are able to transform, format and normalize data.

For this project, I have handled and manipulated large files (CSV, Excel) programmatically and applied OOPs concepts in modules.

Data Analysis and Reporting Tool is a single system that replaced most of the User Define Technologies (UDTs) for modeling current deals and the application will have the flexibility to accommodate future deals. The functionality of some of these UDTs captured in the proposed application. The solution leverages existing BNYM systems in addition to new functionality that allows the Analytics Team to model deals from inception to completion with minimal Technology involvement. This system enables the Business to respond more rapidly to client’s needs.

DART consists of three core modules - Data Management, Business Rules and Reporting.

Data Management – This module allows users to import different types of files such as delimited text files and MS Excel files. It also allows the creation of new data structures, which will facilitate development of future deals. DART will also provide the user to export data in text, pdf, xml and excel format. Users would be able to implement the underlying data structures for a deal without involving Technology using the envisaged data store solution. It provides the centralized secure repository for deal information and generic and efficient data transfer mechanism.

Business Rule and Logic – Users with proper credentials are able to develop and edit business rules and logic using SSRS and the same can be stored and shared in via a library.

Reporting Module – This module will allow the user to generate reports based on the underlying data stored in the database. Users are able to customize their reports based on their specific requirements. The users are also able to execute reports on an ad-hoc basis or schedule them.

Rate Server (RSV):

For this project, I am managing team of two developers and working on different modules simultaneously. This application is part of Markets Risk and it is taking data from Reuters and sending FX rates data to internal applications to calculate the Risk. This is Support and Maintenance project. Angular, SQL, MVC, Web API, ESP, Windows service and NDM technologies are used in this project.

Abstract factory design pattern is used in one of the stand alone application in this project.

This application contains more than 50 jobs. ESP jobs are called to process end users requests for snap rates and rates files are copied in destination location using NDM.

More than 20 console applications are present for different snap jobs. Abstract factory pattern is used to call these applications from single class. Dynamically parameters are checked in database and then particular application is called. Below mentioned modules are part of RSV -

Real Time rates – this is REST service which is used to fetch all real time rates fetched from Reuters. After every 15 min rates are fetched from Reuters.

Snap rates – Standalone application that snaps FX and IR rates from Reuters and loads to the RSV database. Operations get the ability to review snapped rates from FX Review website.

Rate server has 12000 unique rics and 45 scheduled rate capture and review for NY, LON and TOK EOD snaps.

RSV job scheduler – a windows service that schedule the batch jobs.

RSV Monitor – a windows service that monitor batch jobs, checking NDM status, checking file availability, size.

FX Review website – used by FX operations in different regions to review or amend the rates received from Reuters. The rates are captured daily and stored in database for review.

This contains ric group creation and ric mapping functionalities.
