Deloitte follows Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) for its projects where multiple teams from different company locations and partners, who represent different scrum teams participate in developing complex enterprise systems. Kanini software Solutions is Deloittes software development partners and I represent one of the scrum teams in the ART. I co-ordinate with scrum teams from Deloitte, Hyderabad and Deloitte, USA for delivery of one of the modules of their financial enterprise products (Cortex JE) and integration of the same into the parent product, CORTEX. My primary responsibilities include facilitating the developing team, communicating (to other teams in the ART) and resolving impediments in development, representing the team during scrum updates, integration, SOS calls, conducting daily stand-ups and general project management activities.

The system included parent application which forms the approval flow engine, which hosts other child applications. Approval requests were initiated in the Child Applications. The application is primarily to keep track of stock moving in and out of warehouses and providing inventory reports to reconcile with the companies ORACLE ERP during audits.

The application included 4 modules:

  • Warehouse Stock Management Application (Handheld PDT devices)
  • Backend Application (Monitor and maintained all activity on PDT devices in warehouses)
  • Scheduling Delivery (Used at call centre to schedule deliveries)
  • Delivery Application (Android, used my courier agents on their Tablets)

Process

  • The Handheld PDT devices are used to register incoming and outgoing stock at warehouses.
  • Data from Handheld devices is synced to the backend application
  • Backend application provides a single view for activity on all warehouses (various PDTs).
  • At the call centre the scheduling module is used to create schedule for deliveries.
  • The Courier agent uses the Delivery App on android device to see schedules created for him by the call centre and update the delivery.
