Description

It was a project developed for the Mexican startup "Sunwise". I worked there for a few months. After watching for some weeks the Kanban board, I noticedone task was stuck there for several months. I realized that the task was not only a software problem but a research problem, too. I talked with the company's CTO to spend some days in research and seek possible solutions. I read some papers, and I noticed that the problem was related to a computational problem with some not exact solutions, and it is still in research. The research was about the issue of how to compute the maximum number of rectangles in an irregular polygon. After the first implementation in a month, we tried to add more features, like changing the size of the rectangles, changing the orientation of the rectangles, changing the vertical and horizontal space between the rectangles, choosing between different solar modules brands, adding a margin between the rectangles and the border of the polygon.

Description

MathHow for Teachers was an MVP or prototype created to show off to high-school teachers where a colleague and I developed the application to support teachers in evaluating their students. We reused the mathematical algorithms we created previously in the "MathHow for Students" project. The prototype was created using Flask as a framework. I used HTML, CSS, Bootstrap for the front-end, supported by Vanilla Javascript and jQuery.

Description

MathHow for Students was an MVP or prototype created to show off to high-school students where a colleague and I developed the application to support students in their daily homework. We developed mathematical algorithms where we created step-by-step problem solvers of calculus and algebra. The prototype was created using Django as a framework. We used Python to create the algorithms of the problem solvers. We created a Python package where we encapsulated all the business logic. Meanwhile, we used Django to make use of all this business logic. I used HTML, CSS, Bootstrap for the front-end, supported by Vanilla Javascript and jQuery.
