Project Description:  The Energy Australia Distribution Monitoring and Control (DM&C) program intends to upgrade some 14,000 existing 11kV/415kV power distribution substations with remote monitoring and control devices.  In order to support the retrieval, analysis and storage of the data obtained remotely from these distribution substations, a comprehensive Information and Communications Technology (ICT) infrastructure is required to be developed. The objective and scope of the work undertaken by this project is the investigation, research and development of the supporting ICT infrastructure that interfaces with the remote monitoring control devices.
