Rashi is an inquiry-based learning system which allows students to work on a hard problem in domains such as forestry, art history, engineering, biology, and geology. The system is a client-server Java desktop application with a rich UI built in Java Swing. The student investigates the problem by looking at data, exploring field images, gathering notes, forming hypotheses and arguments to support hypotheses. All information is stored in a back end server built in Java Servlets with MySQL.
