Description

This client is the biggest bank of Qatar with ranking of 6th biggest in the region and 58th ranking across the world. The client had a previously enterprise wide deployment of IT Service Desk (BMC Remedy) that he intends to replace it for want of advanced workflow management apart from CMDB integration with highest compliance of ITIL practices. The client was actively considering the option of adopting this re-deployment of this solution through SaaS to minimize the recurrence of capital budget allocation constraints. Accordingly, a feasibility study was carried out and implemented ‘live time’ solution to tackle the Request fulfillment, Incident Management, Problem Management, Change management and Release Management, Service Level Management & knowledge management apart from CMDB. Savings of around US$ 1 Million in the initial capital cost and other subsequent costs of US$ 500,000 was accomplished.

With the success of the above-referred client another big bank in the country too have adopted similar approach and solution.

Description

This client has an IBM mainframe environment with internal storage area network. In view of serious problems of vendor’s frequently phasing out the products thus causing the support issues, compatibility and integration issues etc., and also the TCO. In this connection, feasibility study of demand management predictions were carried out as per the ITSM standards & policies and accordingly the migration to the cloud storage area network is being planned and implemented. The migration was planned to adopt the existing Amazon's cloud services which were otherwise being used for disaster recovery purposes and expects to use Amazon more over time due to its consistent performance. A third party virtual appliance was deployed to act as gateway between the client’s VMware-based network to enable immediate access to the Amazon cloud storage. The client uses the IBM mainframe on site as a web front end for authorized personnel needing access to contract-related documents cached in encrypted form in the third party SAN in the cloud. If the needed document isn't in the cache there, the IBM mainframe can bring it back from the Amazon cloud storage. The client’s business group has noticed any difference in performance in comparison to the former in-house SAN equipment.Savings of around US$ 900,000/annum was accomplished.
