ADAM is a business process management (BPM) workflow system that facilitates task handoffs between user groups, keeping requests moving through the e-Discovery workflow process appropriate for each type of request. Each workflow is made up of multiple tasks, and each task gets assigned to a specific user groups queue (a user group essentially equates to a department), where any user from that group can be assigned to the workflow to perform the task. Only one task within a workflow will be active at any given time. After a task is completed, the next task for the workflow will become active in the queue for the user group responsible for completing it. Once all tasks of a workflow are completed successfully, the workflow will be closed. There are relations and dependencies maintained between the workflows and the user groups.
