        The Data ONTAP operating system implements a single proprietary file-system

called WAFL. When used for file storage, Data ONTAP acts as an NFS server and/or a 

CIFS server,[clarification needed] serving files to both Unix-like clients and to 

Microsoft Windows clients from the same file systems. Auto Support is a mechanism that

proactively monitors the health of your system and automatically sends messages to 

NetApp technical support. The messages are like Event-triggered, Daily, Performance and so.
