Working as an engineer in their newest department, Enterprise Innovation, I’m tasked with working on brand new projects focused on innovation, while also essentially working as a consultant with departments to help make changes to existing applications in order to improve the customer experience.

Sole developer on the Cybercents API Gateway, a NodeJS API connecting external requests to internal microservices via RabbitMQ, and work with the Ruby/Sequel microservices. Tasked with developing the first integration tests for the entire product. As there were no unit tests for the API Gateway, I’m also developing a testing wrapper around the gateway in Elixir that creates requests and generates responses through interactions with RabbitMQ (using GenServer) for end to end testing.

Led development efforts for Digsite and their Rails application, AWS analysis, monitoring, and configuration. Managing deployments, source control, developers, interviewing developers, and managing contractors. Also led integration efforts with external company API’s.

Developing dynamic websites: car dealerships with management pages, but mainly an ad/hiring website. Daily PHP development with the Phalcon framework, building and configuring ElasticSearch, and server management (creating migration and update scripts, administration, etc.). Data migration for major version change with Elixir scripts.

Tasked with developing and maintaining the school’s staff and student PHP intranets and their associated applications. Internet security with PHP, architect, and developer for multiple scheduling applications, a document browser, a custom CMS built using PHP/Apache. I regularly worked with department customers to create requirements for new development projects and took those projects through to completion. I created and maintained Ruby scripts to automate moving data, synchronizing systems, and monitoring the intranet applications. Set up a video database using the Wowza media streaming server.
