As President of Desi Dhamaka - a collegiate, multicultural, community unifying group - I strengthened my project design and management, communication and continuous improvement skills. I wrote standard operating procedures and transition documents consistent with our cross-functional board’s values and goals to facilitate communication with several internal and external entities. I was also able to train next year’s presidents, while applying industrial engineering process improvement tools. Through the Senior Capstone Project with UW Facilities, I gained experience with client need and data analysis, project scope development, process engineering, and effective project implementation scheduling. My courses and the Six Sigma certification discussed the principles and nuances of continuous improvement strategies and project management, and its relation to our increasingly digital world.
