The IT-1 System monitors other field hardware devices called DCUs – Direct load Control Units. The DCUs are one-way communication devices that listen for control signals broadcast over FLEX paging networks (like a Motorola pager infrastructure). When a DCU receives a control signal it will react by shutting off a customers air conditioner in an effort to curtail power to combat too much demand on the electrical grid OR to help the customer save electricity if the real-time price of energy is too high. The problem is this communication from the broadcast software to the DCU is one-way and it leverages a communication infrastructure that can be reliable in some geographical, and patchy in other areas. This poses challenges to program managers because they cant verify that a DCU has curtailed or that a device is getting a quality paging signal.

Thomson Outpost is a product that generates the financial report based on the XML request sent by the client. The product has separate helper components which are governed by a main component called the Job Manager. Job Manager receives the request and assigns it to the scheduler by load balancing where the request is subscribed for timed triggers. My key area of work was on Job Manager and the communication with the other components.

SPVR is a cross business Special Purpose Vehicles trade repository, it has feed interfaces to take data from all sourcing systems across business streams, Repository provided reporting framework and workflow for processing SPV trades. Application is built on ASP.NET and ASP.NET web API with Oracle database. SPVR also has a utility to automatically provision the access requests.
A windows service is created which gets data from access provision systems through API’s. Provision dashboard is created using Angular 4 which gives an interface to monitor tickets. For the web testing purpose, Selenium C# is used.

Thomson DataStream is a product that shows graphical information about a Company, product or any entity that are related to financial domain. There are more than half a million entities for which the historical data are stored across years. The data can be viewed in a graphical interface and comparison of different entities is also possible in the same graph. My area of work is on localizing the chart view page and library page.

The Naperville Citys smart grid project will empower customers with expanded choices about how they consume energy, education about how to conserve energy and automate savings, and the ability to view water, natural gas, and electricity usage and costs. The program will also ensure greater reliability of energy through Demand Response Programs (DR Programs) and provides a variety of electricity rate structures that enables customer cost-savings. The combined technologies provided by Calico, Schneider Electric, and Elster will expand the Naperville Citys communications network by installing an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Smart Meters, automating its distribution grid and implementing Conservation Voltage Reduction (CVR) to increase power quality.
